Textbooks give the ideal nasolabial angle as anywhere from 90 to 120 degrees. The authors asked whether the general public, rather than surgeons, has a narrower preference, and whether age, sex, race and education shift it. Volunteers ranked images of noses at set angles from most to least attractive.
