Soft-tissue composition of the columella and potential relevance in rhinoplasty

Overview

The columella is the strip between the nostrils and forms the middle leg of the nasal tripod, with the medial crura as its cartilage frame. The soft tissue around that cartilage is rarely discussed in the surgical literature. The authors examined its microscopic structure to identify findings relevant to surgery.
