Nonsurgical Rhinoplasty: Diamond Injection Technique for Nasal Tip Contouring

Overview

Improving the appearance of the tip is described as the most frequent reason patients seek nonsurgical rhinoplasty. The authors present the Diamond Injection Technique, a four point filler injection pattern intended to refine the tip into a diamond shape. Data came from a prospective single center cohort, assessed before treatment and again six months later.

What it means for a patient

• The volumes used are very small, under a fifth of a millilitre, so this is a subtle refinement rather than a reshaping.
• Results were assessed at six months, which is within the typical duration of hyaluronic acid filler, so this does not describe how long the effect lasts.
• The abstract reports no complications, but it also does not state that complications were systematically tracked, and nasal filler carries recognized vascular risks.
• Limits: single center, no comparison group, no comparison with surgical tip work, and outcome graded largely by improvement impression rather than measurement values.

Why this paper matters

Nonsurgical tip refinement is now a high volume procedure performed by a wide range of practitioners, and standardized injection patterns are one way to make results and safety more consistent. A defined four point technique with 107 patients is a reasonable sized report. Durability, repeat treatment intervals and complication rates are not established here.
