The Ziegfeld comedian had her nose reduced in 1923 by Henry J. Schireson, in her hotel room; an AP photo shows Brice with Schireson. Dorothy Parker's line — she "cut off her nose to spite her race" — is attributed in the Jewish Women's Archive entry and *J. Weekly*; Brice denied that motive. Streisand played her in *Funny Girl* (1968).
